more smoke

What a lazy artist I am. Every time I draw a new character I surround him in smoke-- what creativity. Why do I always do that? Maybe it's because every character looks more dynamic around smoke. It also tells a little story. Did a bomb just go off? Did he just blow up the bad guy? Is the artist too lazy to draw any feet or any background? Bingo.

Anyhow, this was an Iron Man piece I started sometime last year. Shortly after watching the movie on disc.

Mr Ching: Great piece! At some point you could make a picture of Iron Man with Iron Monger, as did the style of Wolverine Sabretooth. As always, my admiration.

Hi Brian,

Another great piece. Really love seeing you work on some super hero work. If you are considering selling this piece, let me know at bjshamm@aol.com. I would definately be interested. Also, great seeing in you DC's pages recently with the Ragman story. DC would be nuts not to put you on a Bat book!

Nice! I'm always too lazy to draw feet. Just did a screenprint of an elephant... no feet!

I've always admired your "smoke", starting with that Darth Vader one with his helmet off.

Haha, oldest trick in the book for when you don't want to finish a drawing. And it looks amazing.
