This was my first run at "Elbee." John suggested that he needed to be small enough to move around a ship but should resemble those loaders from Aliens-- the one Sigourney Weaver rides when she fights the Alien Queen.
Zayne was place alongside Elbee for size comparison. And Elbee really came alive with Mike's colors.

EB is turning out to be an interesting character in his own right. Wouldn't have believed it, really, at first. :)
While Dustin is doing a great job in his current story arc, I'm also very much looking forward to seeing your artwork again in the KOTOR series. Your style (in addition to the subject matter and excellent writing) is a large part of what not only grabbed me, but kept me coming back to the store every month!
It's been a pleasure browsing your blog entries and seeing development sketches, etc.
And it was great meeting you in person at Comic-Con! (I was the dweeb in the Revan armor, for reference.)

Hey Carolyn!
The Revan costume was outstanding-- probably not too fun in the 90+ degree weather, but it looked fantastic!
Thanks so much for the compliment. It honestly does mean a lot to me that you (and other readers) are enjoying the series so much. We all spend a lot of time on it and whenever we are not drawing, coloring, or writing the book we're thinking about how to improve it. So trust me when I say we appreciated how you came up to us, even before the signing, to share your thoughts. Too bad you couldn't hang around for the signing-- we could have gotten you a couple of signed comics and I owe at least a sketch for being such a big KOTOR fan.
BTW, I remeber reading over and JJ Miller's site that you are coming back to comic books after 10 years. That's awesome! Welcome back, it's such a good time to come back into comics-- so many good books out there right now.
Dustin's doing an outstanding job, you'll love his stuff. But I'll be back soon!

Hey Brian!
I was really sad not to stay for the signing, but your comment about the 90 + degree weather was very accurate! Between that, the claustrophobia of armor in crowds, and just needing to get the darned contacts out, I flaked and fled back to the hotel room to get into civvies. :( I was disappointed in myself, as I'd really really wanted to be there for the signing and to hopefully get a comic autographed. Drat.
"Owed a sketch?" Whoo! I won't hold you to that, considering I'm sure you're extremely busy, but...whoo! How cool would that be? What a nice thing to say!
Yeah, I'm happy to be back reading, honestly. You're right, there are some great titles out there these days. I just have to be careful so that I don't get into a dire comic-book budgeting black hole. So, I stick with KOTOR, mostly.
Yeah, you and Dustin both are doing great work, and it's always fun to see different interpretations of the same characters, when the artwork itself is high quality in both cases.
Cheers!

Hey Carolyn,
E-mail me when you get the chance-- I have a question for you.
