Captain America... done

Here's the finished piece. I wanted the shield at a slight tilt which means more egg shape than circle. However, my elliptical templates weren't large enough and I had to resort to using my compass. Thus we have a straight on shot of his shield instead of slight tilted up. Oh well, small compromise to make. Look for a colored version of this on the Jelly site sometime later.

Thanks,

B

Brian, you have any advice on how to make a scanned drawing completely white without losing the the pencil lines in Photoshop ? Hope you understand what I'm asking. Thanks in advance. Another question: Do you use a pen tablet and if you do what tablet ? BTW nice that you finally updated your blog.

To enhance the white areas of your drawing, go to Image-> Adjustments-> Levels. A Levels screen will pop up, and there are three markers at the bottom. The marker at the far left is black, the one on the middle is gray, and the one on the right is white. Drag the white one towards the left (slowly) and you'll see blemishes and marks begin to disappear. Play around with it-- it's a very useful tool.

I have a Wacom Intuos 2 9x12 tablet.

Thanks,

Seriously nice piece! I would love to see you take on some of marvel or DC's big books!

I think if they put you on something like Iron Man you would end up redefinning the character!

Thanks! Maybe I will have the chance to work on super hero comics some time-- you never know. Thanks for the vote of confidence though.

Quinn-- Sorry, it's by invitation only. But there are a few of these "drawing club" blogs out there. Maybe you could start one?
